When: November 20th, 7P
Where: Wolf 7661 Melrose Ave. Los Angeles, CA
Who: WOLF, Top Chef Contestant Marcel Vigneron
Tommy Sobel, Brick Founder
Paul Yurick, The Future Party
What: A Mindful Meal, a night of intention, reflection, presence, connection, and community
Intention: Bringing together communities for a one-of-a-kind phone-free evening focused on mindfulness and intentional eating, our personal spin on celebrating Thanksgiving together.
The Experience: The private, 80 person dinner began with a with a uniquely crafted menu, denoting each course to a specific mindful posture. First course - gratitude, second – grounding, dessert – presence. The four long, mess hall style tables dawned The Future Party/lululemon gift bags hanging on each seat. Guests arrived and were invited to order specially crafted cocktails at the bar while awaiting the start of the dinner. Upon seating, Paul and Tommy made introductions and instructed us to BRICK our phones by sealing them in “vintage” VHS cases provided in the gift bags. This instantly brought fun and light hearted conversations to new friends, sharing memories of these beloved films. Now that our phones were “bricked”, we were all able to be fully present. Paul and Tommy shared about their perspective companies and their inspiration behind putting together A Mindful Meal. Breanna was able to share about the non-profit/Here to Be Partner Exhale to Inhale, their mission, and where the donations from the evening would be supporting their programming. From there, we tuned in to the CEO of myintent to guide us through choosing our word for the year. We then enjoyed a specially designed multi-course family style meal by celebrity chef and ‘Top Chef’ finalist Marcel Vigneron. The evening completed with a with a gratitude meditation from Megan Monahan, lululemon Melrose Meditation Ambassador.
